The False Knight Upon the Road

Patchwork live at Sound Symposium XVIII
St. John’s Newfoundland, July 2016

The False Knight Upon the Road is an ages-old riddle song first collected and published in the UK by Francis Child (1825-1896) and then again in Nova Scotia by Helen Creighton (1899-1989). The stage projections use cell phone emojis in a whimsical storybook-inspired style to illustrate an ancient tale of innocence versus evil in this story where, as much as the False Knight (the Devil) tries to confound the child, he is unable to do so.
